On this website, you can find materials that accompany my book, Resilience: How Japanese Pastors Can Thrive in Every Season, as well as other resources. My hope is that these resources will be a support to ministry leaders and churches.

John Houlette

Since 1985, John has served faithfully as a missionary in Japan, focusing on church planting, leadership development, counseling, and member care. Over four decades, God has used his ministry to impact pastors, missionaries, and communities throughout Japan.

In this video, several leaders share how John’s ministry has made a lasting difference:

• Hari-sensei, who was mentored by John and now leads Saikyo Nozomi Chapel.
• Emi, who partnered with John in member care to support pastors and missionaries.
• Matsuda-sensei, who received care and mentorship from John after experiencing burnout following the 2011 Tohoku triple disaster.

This video is also a thank you to the many supporters whose faithful prayers and giving have made this work possible. The seeds planted continue to bear fruit.
